Check Point Security Administration NGX II (R65) — A 2-day course

Synopsis

Check Point Security Administration NGX II (R65) offers advanced training on VPN-1 NGX, and delivers in-depth information on VPN and encryption technologies.

This course meets the requirements for the CCSE NGX certification. A separate examination (not part of the course) is available for delegates who wish to have formal certification.

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Use NGX tools to install NGX on Windows Server and SecurePlatform
  • Deploy and manage distributed gateways, using Check Point's SmartUpdate and Secure Internal Communications (SIC)
  • Use SmartUpdate to download and install the SmartPortal package
  • Understand how to use NGX tools to upgrade R65 from earlier versions
  • Configure VPNs, using IKE encryption and Check Point's simplified VPN setup
  • Understand the role of encryption with VPNs
  • Create site to site VPNs using 'Shared Secret' and Certificates
  • Create Remote Access VPNs and connect via SecureRemote
  • Create Remote Access VPNs that use 'Office Mode'
  • Connect to 'clientless' VPNs using the SSL Network Extender
  • Deploy Management High Availability
  • Deploy different modes within ClusterXL
