Detailed below are the courses and corresponding examinations that enable delegates to work towards achieving Oracle Java Certifications.
The Fundamentals of Java Programming course helps delegates to prepare for either of the following exam tracks:
1) Java Standard Edition Java SE 7 Programmer I (1Z0-803) Exam which leads to the Oracle Certified Associate (OCA), Java SE 7 certification.
Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 7 certification provides an ideal entry into an application development or a software project management career using Java technologies
2) Java Standard Edition 5 and 6, Certified Associate (1Z0-850) Exam which leads to the Oracle Certified Associate (OCA), Java SE 5/SE 6 certification.
These qualifications replace the Sun Certified Java Associate (SCJA).
The Java Programming course helps delegates to prepare for either of the following exam tracks:
1) Java SE7 Programmer II exam (1ZO-804) which leads to the Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 7 Programmer certification (OCPJP), formerly the Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP).
The Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 7 Programmer exam is for developers experienced in using the Java programming language.
2) The Java Standard Edition 6 Programmer Certified Professional Exam (1ZO-851) which leads to the Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE6 Programmer certification.
These qualifications replace the Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP).
The Developing Applications with Java EE course, in conjunction with the Java Web Development - Servlets and JSP course will teach the major topics required for the delegate to work towards achieving the Oracle Certified Expert, Java Platform 6 JavaServer Pages and Servlet Developer (exam 1Z0-899).
This Oracle Certified Expert qualification is geared toward experienced developers of Java technology applications. Certified individuals should have the knowledge and skills to quickly build web applications suited to any Java EE 6 application server using JSP and servlet technologies.
Please Note: It is necessary to gain Java OCA certification to become a Java OCP, and it is also necessary to gain Java OCP certification to become a Java OCE.
The JBoss Application Administration course covers the main topics required for the Red Hat JBoss Certified Application Administrator (JBCAA) Exam (EX248).
Following attendance on the relevant courses, delegates will need to dedicate time for self study and researching the topics covered on the course. They will also need to gain hands-on experience so they can put into practice what they have learnt on the courses.
Attending courses alone will not guarantee exam success, previous experience, practice, self study and aptitude are also key requirements.
Before taking any exam, delegates should ensure they have the recommended experience by checking the vendor website for current exam requirements and pre-assessment questionnaires.
Exams are not included as part of the course nor in the course fee.
