Managing Successful Programmes (MSP™) Practitioner — A 5-Day CourseCourse DescriptionAll organisations and companies undergo continuous change and improvement as a natural process. Programmes represent major change. They are complex, difficult and carry substantial risk. Programme Management provides a framework for managing such change. It provides a sound basis for managing collections of related projects that deliver change and benefits to the business. Programmes involve many parts of an enterprise and a great deal of valuable resources. The impact of not managing them successfully could be considerable. Programmes require effective management to be successful. This course will give delegates a sound understanding of the principles and practice of effective and successful Programme Management. A realistic Case Study develops throughout the course. The course has been designed to prepare delegates for and comply with the syllabus requirements of the MSP™ 2007 Foundation and Practitioner Examinations. Course ObjectivesThis course will provide delegates with a complete and practical understanding of the OGC (Office of Government Commerce) approach to Programme Management (as documented in the book, Managing Successful Programmes 2007 edition) and the opportunity to practise essential aspects. It will also provide delegates with the opportunity to sit the MSP™ 2007 Foundation and Practitioner Examinations. PrerequisitesDelegates should have a good appreciation of the principles and sound practical experience of Project Management, ideally utilising a recognised structured methodology. It would be helpful if they have some knowledge and/or experience of strategic or business planning. Examination and CertificationThe course has been designed to prepare delegates for the MSP™ 2007 Foundation, and Practitioners Certificate Examinations, administered by the Association for Project Management Group Ltd (APM Group Ltd). The Foundation exam is taken on the third day of the course, and the Practitioner exam on the the fifth and final day. Please note, there is some pre-course reading which will be sent to participants prior to attendance and there will be some evening revision and exam preparation work throughout the course. A copy of the OGC's 'Managing Successful Programmes' 2007 edition manual published by The Stationery Office (list price £45) will be provided to all delegates. Price
