Principles of Project Management using PRINCE2™ — A 2-Day Course

Course Description

This course introduces modern techniques for planning, scheduling, reporting, controlling and managing projects. PRINCE2™ terminology is used throughout, although no prior knowledge of PRINCE2™ is assumed.

Particular emphasis is given to the methodology of the project planning process, including creating the Product Breakdown Structure, a key discipline in project management.

Risk & Contingency, Team Structures & Responsibilities, Resource Allocation & Scheduling, Budgeting & Cost Control, and Effective Reporting are also examined.

The course lasts for 2 days and includes the following:

  • Explain the principles of a project lifecycle and PRINCE2 methodology

  • Report on the status of a project

The course breaks Project Management down into two main areas of Planning and Control. Participants adopt a structured approach to planning a project, from initial concept through to a risk assessment of the plan. In addition participants identify the importance of project control as a means to contain cost and to remain within timescale. Participants gain skills they can use immediately in their current role.
