Using Maturity Models to Improve Performance — A 1-Day Workshop

Course Description

The purpose of the P3M3 Workshop is to show how to use the Office of Government Commerce's Portfolio, Programme and Project Management Maturity Model (P3M3) to improve organisational performance. It demonstrates that there is more to maturity modelling than certification by providing delegates with a self-assessment method and a framework for planning and measuring improvement initiatives.

This is a highly interactive 1 day workshop comprising a mixture of theory, case studies and practical sessions.

Course Objectives

On completion of the course the delegate will be able to:

  • Have understood the background and purpose of maturity modelling
  • Be able to explain the 5 levels of maturity and how the P3M3 model is constructed
  • Be able to undertake a P3M3 self-assessment using the check-lists provided
  • Understand how the output of the maturity model relates to the 4-step framework for process improvement
  • Be able to initiate process improvement using P3M3
  • Understand the APMG assessment process and certification benefits
  • Know how P3M3 relates to the PRINCE2™ Maturity Model
  • Know the benefits of using a maturity model
