Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)

Synopsis

The CCDP certification (Cisco Certified Design Professional) validates an individual's networking skills at the mid-career level and will increase ability to design complex, multiprotocol internetworks for enterprise organisations. The Cisco Certified Design Professional certification indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of network design.

With a CCDP, a network professional can design routed and switched networks involving LAN, WAN, and dial access services, applying modular design practices and making sure the whole solution responds optimally to the business and technical needs and is designed to be highly available.

A CCDA certified individual will be able to:

  • Determine a customer's requirements for network performance, security, capacity, and scalability
  • Design a network infrastructure that meets these requirements
  • Articulate the benefits of the design to a customer's satisfaction
  • Develop and test a prototype network that validates the design-and demonstrate's that to a customer's satisfaction

Intended Audience

The CCDP certification is intended for mid-level network engineers involved in the network design, planning and implementation.

Prerequisites:

Valid CCNA and CCDA certifications.

Re-certification

CCDP certifications are valid for three years. To re-certify, pass any 642 exam that is part of the professional level curriculum after 01/01/06, or pass any current CCIE written exam.
