You must have an active LPIC-1 certification to receive LPIC-2 certification, but the LPIC-1 exams (LPI-101 and LPI-102) may be taken in any order. Similarly, the LPIC-2 exams (LPI-201 and LPI-20) may be taken in any order.

This includes network troubleshooting, managing network services such as NFS, APACHE, DNS and Samba, controlling user access to the system via PAM and monitoring system performance. Following attendance on the relevant courses, delegates will need to dedicate time for self study and researching the topics covered on the course. They will also need to gain hands-on experience so they can put into practice what they have learnt on the courses.

Attending courses alone will not guarantee exam success, previous experience, practice, self study and aptitude are also key requirements.
