The number of threats and vulnerabilities are constantly increasing so being able to quickly determine which threats are critical and need immediate remediation is key to staying ahead of the curve. Using Vulnerability management in McAfee's own infrastructure helped us move from nineteen patch deployments a year to four, through understanding which vulnerabilities already had remediation from our installed products and only having to patch for those that didn't.
The Vulnerability Management Essentials course covers installation, configuration, troubleshooting and how to efficiently utilize all of the features and components of McAfee's Vulnerability Management solution. This course will reinforce vulnerability management best practices.

At the end of this course attendees should understand the capabilities of McAfee's solution and have the capability of installig McAfee Vulnerability Management. Students will create, modify, enhance, and schedule scan configurations that adhere to specified criteria. Participants will assign vulnerability tickets and verify ticket completion. Other labs will be administered that reflect the product's features and modules.
It is recommended that the students should have a working knowledge of networking and system administration concepts, a basic understanding of computer security concepts, and a general understanding of viruses and anti-virus technologies.
