FrameMaker can be customised for work with XML structures. To do this, an existing DTD (Document Type Definition), which defines a specific document structure, is transferred into a FrameMaker EDD (Element Definition Document) or is created in a new EDD. This EDD is additionally enriched with format information. When creating structure-based documents, one of these configured FrameMaker environments guides the authors while they work in the desired print layout.

Configuring FrameMaker is a complex task. In this course you will learn what configuration steps to take and where to make customizations. You will learn how to configure FrameMaker from a previously provided DTD.

Suitable For

People who configure special DTDs for their FrameMaker environment.

We assume that you have the knowledge from our course Structured FrameMaker 1 - Basic course. We also assume that you know how to use FrameMaker as a DTP program.
