Leeds Training Centre: Directions from Road Rail and Air Terminals
Please note that not all Leeds training courses are held at this location. If you have not received your joining instructions confirming the location of your Leeds course, please contact us.
For those attendees who have received instructions to tell them that this is the location of you course, this page should provide all the details needed.
Driving
Getting to our Leeds Training Centre from the M1 Northbound
(e.g. Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Birmingham, Coventry, London)
At junction 43 the motorway splits. Take the right hand lanes and follow M621 Leeds Centre. Exit M621 at junction 3 and follow signs for city centre and universities. Pass under the railway bridges keeping in outside lane and enter City Square. Take exit signposted ’University’ into Quebec Street (the main Post Office on your right). Turn right at next traffic lights into East Parade. Travel up East Parade in the left hand lane, straight across The Headrow into Calverley Street (Town Hall will be on your left) past the Leeds General Infirmary (on your left) and Millenium Square on the right (opposite the infirmary). Turn right immediately after the Civic Hall (on your right). Turn left at the next traffic lights into Woodhouse Lane. Pass the main entrance to the University of Leeds (NOT Leeds Metropolitan University) on your left after a few hundred yards, near the Parkinson Tower. Continue following Woodhouse Lane as it sweeps right across the face of the Parkinson Building and then left around the side of it, passing the Eldon pub on your right. Turn Left into Clarendon Road. at the lights just before the Library pub. The Leeds Innovation Centre is about 150 yards down Clarendon Road on the right hand side. Turn right into Moorland road (passing the Leeds Business School) until you see the Innovation Centre entrance signed on the third gateway.
Getting to our Leeds Training Centre from the M62 Eastbound
(e.g. Cardiff, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow)
Exit M62 at junction 27 to the M621. Exit the M621 at junction 2 (signposted Harrogate, York and Skipton) and after a few hundred yards approach major roundabout. Take third exit to city centre and join inner ring road. Take exit signposted Skipton A660, which will bring you to Woodhouse Lane. Pass the main entrance to the University of Leeds (NOT Leeds Metropolitan University) on your left after a few hundred yards, near the Parkinson Tower. Continue following Woodhouse Lane as it sweeps right across the face of the Parkinson Building and then left around the side of it, passing the Eldon pub on your right. Turn Left into Clarendon Road. at the lights just before the Library pub. The Leeds Innovation Centre is about 150 yards down Clarendon Road on the right hand side. Getting to our Leeds Training Centre from the A1 Southbound

Leave A1 (at exit to Ferrybridge Services) to join M62 westbound. Exit M62 at junction 29 to join M1 northbound. (continue from - From the South (M1))

Leave A1 taking A64 towards Leeds and join inner ring road (dual carriageway). Take exit signposted Skipton A660, which will bring you to Woodhouse Lane. Air Travel
Getting to our Leeds Training Centre from Leeds-Bradford Airport
(Direct flights from Aberdeen, Amsterdam, Belfast, Bristol, Brussels, Cork, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London Gatwick & Heathrow, Paris CDG, Isle of Man & Jersey)
There is a regular bus service from Leeds-Bradford airport to the City Centre. A taxi from the airport to the University will cost between GBP 10 and GBP 15.
Getting to our Leeds Training Centre from Manchester Airport
(Flights from most major world cities)
There is a train service from the Manchester airport railway station to Leeds railways station. Trains run once each hour and takes about 75 minutes. The train is called the "Transpennine Express", although it is not very fast.
From Leeds City Railway Station
(Direct trains from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, Cardiff)
Taxis
There is a taxi rank directly outside the main entrance of the railway
station. Ask for the "Leeds Innovation Centre, at the top of Clarendon
Road". The fare should be around £3 or £4.
Buses
When you leave the railway station you will find yourself in City
Square. Across the square to your left is the main Post Office. The street
which runs to the right of the Post Office as you look at it is Infirmary
Street, where there are many bus stands. All buses from stand B (except
limited stop buses whose numbers are prefixed by X) go to the main entrance
of the University and stop close to the junction between Clarendon Road and
Woodhouse Lane (ask the driver for the Library Pub).
Parking
GBdirect do not have parking facilities, though there is sometimes
on-street parking available within a few hundred yards. The safest option
is the
multi-storey
car park on Woodhouse Lane, but be aware that it is about ten or fifteen
minutes' walk away.
Training delegates who experience disabilities which require them to park
within a short distance of the training centre should contact us as soon as
possible so that we may make appropriate arrangements.
Accommodation
We are comparatively new to the area and are not, therefore, yet in a
position to recommend particular guest houses, lodgings, or hotels in
Leeds.
You may find suitable accommodation from
our geographical search engine.
Alternatively, here are some hotels within walking distance of our
offices. They are ordered roughly nearest to farthest, though the farthest
is in the heart of the city centre and may be more convenient for dining
out and nightlife. I reiterate that we haven't stayed at any of them
ourselves.
